Plane Crashes in Weld County Cornfield Over the Weekend

A private plane crashed in a Weld County Cornfield over the weekend.

On Saturday, October 13, 2018 at approximately 03:57 pm, deputies with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office responded to a plane that crashed in a field near WCR 37 and WCR 39, north of Fort Lupton.

Both the passenger and the pilot survived the crash and got themselves to a nearby hospital before deputies arrived. The cause of the crash is still unknown.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office secured the perimeter around the incident area and waited for representatives from the FAA to arrive. The FAA and NTSB will handle the investigation.
