We want to send an enormous THANK YOU to all of our wonderful listeners who came out to support Pink Up the Pace. The money we raised is going to go a long way to support the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Fund through the Mckee Medical Center Foundation. The programs support a myriad of services, some of them being the prevention and early detection efforts that are so important in dealing with breast cancer. As I learned over the weekend, self-examinations are important and can be effective, but some women have a density in their breasts that make self-exams ineffective. This is where regular mammograms become essential. For people with limited or no insurance, the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Fund and Mckee Medical Center Foundation come up with funds and other creative ways to make sure that women who need exams can get them. That also goes for some of the treatment options that Mckee offers; if there is a true need, they do their best to fill that need.

That is where you and fundraisers like Pink Up the Pace come in to play. When you stopped by over the weekend and donated, this is what you supported. Plus you got to shop. So we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we also thank the Promenade Shops at Centerra for their help in creating such a wonderful event. The goodie bags had more than the value that you donated and we are sure that you enjoyed them thoroughly.
