Man, I am going to owe my wife big time. Today I suggested that we go to separate movies. I did this because, while my favorite movies of all time are the Star Wars movies, that does not mean that they mean the same thing to her. So I figured I could save her some pain, offer that we go to the movie theatre at the same time, and when we get there, she goes into a theater playing something like the Vow or This Means War and I can go revisit my love for midi-chlorians and light sabres.

But my wife, being the wonderful person that she is, says without any hint of passive aggression, "I'll go to Star Wars with you." She didn't ask for a quid pro quo or anything of that nature, she just stated that she'd be happy to go with me. What a sweetheart.

So now, I realize that I must follow her example and go to the theater with her to see the next big Meg Ryan equivalent chick flick. I will and do watch these types of movies with her at home on a purely rental basis, but her willingness to go and enjoy something just because it means a lot to me is a gift that I should not soon forget.
