According to the Weld Food Bank, 'In Weld County, one in five children do not have enough food to eat. In Greeley-Evans School District 6, 61 percent of students qualify for free or reduced priced meals. However, over the weekend they do not have access to those meals.'

To help get food to students in need, the Weld Food Bank started the Backpack program, which they report sent nearly 25,000 bags home with children last year, so they had something to eat on Saturday and Sunday.

On April 2, Weld Food Bank invites you to the Stone Soup Gala at the Island Grove Event Center, for a night of food, dancing, auctions and more to raise money for the Backpack program.
