Not A Good Look: Is Colorado One of the Drunkest States in America?
There's an abundance of breweries here in Colorado which is awesome, but as the saying goes, too much of a good thing could actually be bad.
According to a report from 24/7 Wall St, Colorado was ranked within the top 25 of the drunkest states in America.
Colorado Loves Craft Beer
It's really no secret that here in Colorado, craft beer is a prominent staple. In fact, there are over 400 breweries in the state, with dozens more in the works according to Colorado Brewery List.
Those brewers in Colorado really know what they're doing too because Coloradans frequently take home awards at national and worldwide competitions.
Colorado Really Loves Wine Too
Of course, beer isn't the only alcohol that Coloradans are consuming. The state is also home to over 150 wineries as well.
Good times and good drinks just seem to go hand in hand here in the Centennial State.
How Colorado Ranks on List of Drunkest States in America
Unfortunately, those good times and good drinks can turn sour very quickly when limits are exceeded.
Using data from the 2022 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, 24/7 Tempo (part of the 24/7 Wall St. Media Network,) composed a ranking of the drunkest states in America. While Colorado did not make the top of the list, the state still ranked pretty highly, coming in at number 23.
20.1% of adults in Colorado were reported to drink excessively, which is a tad higher than the US rate of 19.8%.
When looking at fatal car accidents involving alcohol the results were even worse, coming in at a stunning 34%. That number is actually the 9th highest in America, surpassing the national average of 26.6%.
