
7 High Schools in Northern Colorado Nominated for Great Musicals
With all the high schools that we have in Colorado, 50 of them were nominated for a Tony Awards-like awards program that's happening in Denver since 2014. Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland and Windsor made the list.
What Awards Program Are the Northern Colorado High Schools Nominated For?
According to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA,) the Bobby G High School Musical Awards program recognizes students and educators in the areas of performance, design, direction, choreography, stage management, musical direction, orchestration, technical production, and overall production excellence.
A Fort Colllins High School Returning After Winning in 2025
Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins was a big winner at the 2025 awards, taking home five for their production of "Carrie: The Musical." That sounds like a fun show. Fossil Ridge is nominated, again, for the 2026 Bobby G Awards.
Selected Winners Could End Up Performing on Broadway
While the published list of nominated schools doesn't include what categories the schools are nominated for, there is a chance that a student from Northern Colorado could be headed to perform at a special showcase on a Broadway stage.

DCPA notes that The winners of the Bobby G Outstanding Lead Performer awards will represent Colorado as nominees at The Jimmy Awards/National High School Musical Theatre Awards in New York City.
The winners will go through a rigorous theatre intensive that includes coaching sessions, training, and rehearsals led by some of Broadway’s most accomplished professionals, before hitting an actual Broadway stage.
The 2026 Bobby G Awards will be held at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House on May 15.
