Although the COVID-19 pandemic has left this ski season up in the air for some, visitors will still be able to enjoy some winter fun in Breckenridge.

According to 9News, the town is building a new sledding hill in the Airport Road parking lot near downtown.

Scott Reid, Breckenridge's recreation director, told the station that the attraction, which will be free to access, is designed to offer "outdoor, socially distant, and safe" fun for families.

The town is also working on adding more free cross-country skiing and biking trails to make up for the fact that reservations at the ski resort may be limited.

The sledding hill is currently just a pile of dirt, but it's set to make its snow-covered debut in November.
