We've been thinking of selling our house for years. In 2010, we even went on the market briefly but couldn't find the offer that we wanted. Things seemed to be much tougher back then, and for buyers, sellers and builders, that was the midst of the recession. Only companies or people with really deep pockets were making any moves back then.

Since then, things have been steadily improving, and our realtor even told us that when we are ready to move, we'll probably be able to garner a much better offer than the last time we went on sale. That good news is being echoed in reports from the new home construction industry today. According to the Coloradoan, new home construction is reaching pre-recession levels. Building permits are reaching a high we haven't seen since 2007 and three major projects planned in Fort Collins will have a significant impact on the building community.
