The Denver Channel shared that those who will be traveling late Monday into Tuesday may need to put those plans on hold.

'There is a chance that travel could become nearly impossible across the I-25 urban corridor and across much of the northeast plains,' The Denver Channel reported from the National Weather Service.

In storms like this, CDOT and local law enforcement urge you to stay off the roads completely, in order to keep everyone, including first responders, safe.

CDOT has issued a Winter Storm Warning that will last through midday Tuesday, and warns that road closures are likely for Denver, Fort Collins, the Front Range mountains and foothills. The NWS Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Northern Colorado from 5 p.m. Monday until 2 p.m. Tuesday.

'Holiday travelers are encouraged to delay travel until Wednesday if possible,' CDOT said.
