Mike Shanahan To Get The Ultimate Honor In Denver On Sunday
For 14 seasons, this man roamed the Denver Broncos sidelines and while there were many factors in the Broncos FINALLY getting over the hump and winning back to back Super Bowls after several failed attempts, Mike Shanahan's name has to go at or near the top of the list of people responsible for it.
From 1995-2008, Mike Shanahan, who was lured away from the hated Oakland Raiders, gave John Elway and Broncos fans something they hadn't really had before: a dynamic running game to take some pressure off John Elway, who was on the home stretch of his career and a big play-making defense that at times simply stifled opposing offenses.
He was often referred to as an offensive genius and with some of the numbers his teams put up over the years, it's hard to argue with that assessment.
Shanahan is one of only six NFL coaches to ever win back-to-back Super Bowls and averaged more than 10 wins per season during his 14 years on the Broncos sideline.
Whether you're going to the game or not, this is going to be something special for Broncos Country to see as one of the greatest Broncos of all time will be forever honored and remembered in the Ring of Fame. Congratulations Coach Shanahan!
