There are a lot of great Christmas movies out there, and many of them are golden-oldie classics. Here is an old story with a modern take on it that, in my mind, puts it up there with the best ever made.

It probably helps that the director in which this classic was entrusted knew how to handle bringing an iconic story to the big screen. The production is just so complete, giving the original story line and the original poetry it's due, while humanizing the Grinch in such a way that it doesn't matter when this movie is viewed, now, or one hundred years from now. My guess is that it will stand the test of time.
