'Festival of Lights' in Downtown Loveland, November 19, 2021

More people will be celebrating the holidays in 2021 than we saw in 2020, as many of the events that did happen, are back. The 'Festival of Lights' is one of those events.

Loveland will be officially kicking of the holiday season with the 'Festival of Lights' on Friday night, November 19, 2021 along 4th Street. The night will include just about everything people love around the holidays.

The event will run for just three hours, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m, but there will be plenty of things packed in to that timeframe.

The 25-Foot Christmas/Holiday Tree

Standing outside the Rialto Theatre, they will light the tree at 7:30.

Santa and Mrs. Claus

The Big Guy and his 'better half' will arrive in a decked out Bronco 'Sleigh' at 5:30 that night, just as the sun really begins to set, and the weekend begins to kick in.

Reindeer and Carriage Rides

They'll have live reindeer on the scene, and folks can take a free carriage ride from the main area to the Foote Lagoon at the Civic Center where they'll have 'Lights on the Lagoon.

Crafts, Makers and Shopping

The stores in Downtown will be staying open late, The Valentine Flea will be holding a pop-up holiday market, many craft vendors will be at the festival as well.

S'mores and Cocoa

Meals on Wheels of Loveland and Berthoud will be out with s'mores and hot cocoa to warm up the night.

Adult Beverages

Loveland Aleworks and Crow Hop Brewing will be on hand with their beers, including seasonal releases. OBC Wine Project by Odell Brewing will be at the festival as well, a great opportunity to try out their varietals.

The 'Festival of Lights' celebration may not last, but all the lights that the city puts up will be brightening Downtown until February, which will look very cool.

The Outlets at Loveland opened in 1994, and was a real 'hot spot' in its day. 27 years later, here in the fall of 2021, things have cooled, but stores remain.

Loveland is Far From Being as Small as These Tiny Colorado Towns

In a tiny town, where do you go to shop? Is there anywhere to go out to eat? And, given there aren't many people living in many of these tiny towns, is there even anything to do?

For those select few (and I do mean few) that live in these tiny towns, I have so many questions... the main one being, how do you do it?

From (lack of) population to significant earthquake activity - there are multiple reasons why I, personally, could never live in a tiny town.
