Loveland’s bus service received a share of a federal pandemic aid package from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

According to a City of Loveland press release, a "$2.4 million CARES Act grant will cover the expenses COLT has incurred during the past several months, and ensure that it remains able to provide essential service to Loveland residents as the pandemic’s effects continue".

The money will go to bus and paratransit services, as well as maintenance and service for vehicles "as required by the public health emergency".

“We are very appreciative of these funds as it allows COLT to maintain current service levels for our customers who rely on us daily for their transportation and mobility needs,” Loveland Public Works Director Mark Jackson said. “It also allows us to temporarily lessen the funding burden on our strained City resources during the pandemic response.”
