Love Pumpkin Spice? Colorado May Not Be the Place for You
The website Lawnstarter.com has conducted a study that fans of all things pumpkin may not appreciate. That is, unless you live some place like Portland or Los Angeles.
In advance of National Pumpkin Day coming up October 26th, they compared 200 of the biggest cities in the U.S., based on seven "pumpkin friendly" traits, "including cities with easy access to pumpkin patches, pumpkin treats and beverages, and pumpkin-related events."
Turns out Colorado isn't quite as basic as we might have thought. Six of our state's cities made the list, with none clocking in higher than #67 on the list.
Thornton, Aurora and Denver are Colorado's top three, coming in at #67, #75 and #84 respectively. As for Northern Colorado? Fort Collins is the top dog, ranked at #98. Colorado Springs and Lakewood bring up the rear for the state.
Now, this isn't to say - of course - that if you have an intense craving for something pumpkin spiced, you can't find it at a local Starbucks or Bed Bath & Beyond, because I'm sure you can. From the O.G. pumpkin-spiced latte to candles, soaps, and air fresheners to pies, cookies, popcorn, candy and even Jello (yes, even Jello), there is no shortage of basic pumpkin spiced things to scratch your itch for the biggest flavor/scent trend of the last decade plus.
You almost have to wonder if the creative meetings at every large company across America the last several years have had that eye rolling, collective groan when someone in a meeting no doubt says, "hey everyone... you know what we need this year? A Pumpkin Spiced variety of our toilet paper!" or whatever their company's product is.
But you want to know the most shocking part of all? I searched for Pumpkin Spiced T.P. on Amazon. And it actually exists. Sometimes I think if aliens ever landed here on earth, they would shake their heads and leave as fast as they could.
In the meantime, here's the top ten pumpkin friendly cities in America, thanks to Lawnstarter.com.
