Live Photo: Does a Ghost in a Red Dress Move Behind a Tombstone?
I'm not 100% certain what I believe when it comes to paranormal activity like ghosts. I know I've spent a night almost completely alone at the allegedly haunted Stanley Hotel - that story will be coming around Halloween, count on it - and spoiler alert: I didn't experience anything weird or scary.
I think believing in things like ghosts or aliens might just be all in the eye of the beholder and the memories that said beholder has of whatever they claim happened to them. Claim to have seen or heard a ghost? Heard a cabinet slam shut when nobody else was home? Cool story. Pics... or it didn't happen.
Well, wouldn't you know it, I have a friend who is super into the supernatural, so much in fact that he regular travels to some of what are considered the most haunted sites across the United States. And guess what? He has the pics to prove it happened.
Recently, he traveled to Silver Terrace Cemeteries in Virginia City, NV on one of these paranormal seeking adventures. It has a pretty rich history of being haunted as documented by the site OnlyInYourState.com.
While he didn't see or sense anything out of the ordinary, he did take a bunch of pics that day, most of which he didn't really look at until he was home flipping through them on his phone.
As you probably know, iPhones have a pretty cool feature called the "live photo," where if you hold down the picture, you get a moving image that's captured over around a second or two before and after you hit the button to take the pic. And that's where this story gets good.
Have a look at the pic that his camera took. I've gone ahead and circled what you're looking for here.
In case you can't see it, it appears there's a woman in a pretty old looking red dress hanging out by that tombstone over there. He claims that there were zero other people in the cemetery while they were there.
But then if you have a look at the live photo, OMG... that lady disappears behind the tombstone. And if you look really, really close, not only does she duck behind the tombstone, but you can see through her as she does.
I don't know about you, but I just got a little bit of the chills.
