The Larimer County Sheriff's Office and the Northern Colorado Financial Crimes Task Force are investigating numerous cases of identity theft and fraud cases in Northern Colorado. During a close working relationship with the Denver US Postal Inspectors, it was discovered that residence of Northwest Fort Collins, Rist Canyon and Stove Prairie might have had their mail stolen. The suspects are believed to have created fraudulent financial and identification listed as the victims.

The Northern Colorado Financial Crimes Task Force is asking residents in the affected areas to monitor their accounts through their financial institutions.
