Throwing a destination wedding at Disneyland or Disney World is super popular nowadays, but what if your family and friends can't make it all the way out to Orlando or Anaheim and end up missing the biggest day of your life? That's why you host your wedding at the cutest slice of Americana in Colorado: Lakeside Amusement Park.

Sure, there's Elitch Gardens, Heritage Square, and Glenwood Caverns, or if you really wanted to get fancy you could throw your wedding at Santa's Workshop. Those could also be really good options (Elitch Gardens would be the most obvious).

But let me tell you why I think Lakeside Amusement Park is the best destination for your local amusement park wedding.

The family-owned park opened under the name White City in 1907, making it one of the oldest amusement parks in the United States. Spearheaded by Denver brewer Adolph Zang, the historic park on Lake Rhoda features the landmark Tower of Jewels, vintage signs with hundreds of thousands of glittering lights, a marble and mirror backbar saved from the Denver Union Station, and popular rides like Wild Chipmunk, Satellite, Heart Flip, Loop-O-Plane, and of course the Ferris Wheel and Merry-Go-Round.

Seriously, the Heart Flip though.

Just looking at photos of the park, it's easy to envision it being the cutest locale for a vintage, Americana-inspired wedding (sans mouse ears). Overall, this place has character, it's close to home, and they have electricity and shelter (both super important for anyone throwing a wedding). It also has an outdoor element to it, and guests could ride the rides if they wanted to!

So is the park even equipped for weddings? YES. According to their website, Lakeside Amusement Park is "an ideal location for hosting events, company picnics, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, scout groups, sports teams, youth groups, and more." There you go - other people are on the same page as me! Lakeside even has several BBQ menus to cover catering.

Even if you don't want to get married at Lakeside, it's still a perfect place to get your engagement or wedding photos taken. Just imagine stealing a kiss on the Ferris Wheel...

...or flying through the sky on the Satellite.

Oh, and just think about getting married at sunset with the rides' silhouettes in the distance. So beautiful.
