What’s This New JonBenét Ramsey Series All About?

It's one of the saddest and strangest cold cases in Colorado's history: Who murdered JonBenét Ramsey on Christmas Day in 1996? Nearly 30 years later, Hollywood's still getting involved.

There have been several movies and TV specials regarding the case, mostly documentary-style; this one will have big-name stars portraying JonBenét's parents. How many Coloradans will be tuning in to watch?

On one side, it's been a while since any movie has been made about the case, so perhaps it will reveal more; on the other, how does another movie help in solving JonBenet's murder?

I, for one, was taken aback when I heard the news about this new thing being made for Paramount+ about the JonBenét Ramsey case. It seemed, to me, that there have been enough of them. Then, you find out who they have starring in it, and you get interested.

Who Will Star in the New JonBenét Series?

They have big stars lined up for this: Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen. Right there, that gets me intrigued: These stars must see something in the writing/storytelling of the production to sign on to the project. What's in that script?

What is the Premise of the New JonBenét Series?

According to the Paramount press release, it will be about John and Patsy Ramsey dealing with the murder, and how they were thrust into the media spotlight.

Those who were around at the time remember how they were the main focus of the investigation at the beginning; perhaps the series will get into that.

How Many Episodes Will the New JonBenét Ramsey Series Be?

According to the Paramount press release it will be eight episodes, which is pretty standard today for streaming projects; that will provide ample time to get into the murder, what followed, and how JonBenét's parents dealt with it.

When Will the New JonBenét Series Air?

They have not announced when the series will hit our screens. As they've really just announced the project with only a working title, "JonBenét," it will probably not be until 2025.
