It was two years ago that John Jacoby was shot and killed while riding his bike in Windsor. He was on his way to help a friend with yard work. That’s exactly the kind of man John ‘Johnny’ was. This weekend, Windsor gather’s to celebrate Johnny.

John 'Johnny' Jacoby was known as the ‘Unofficial Mayor of Windsor’ and the Ambassador of Happiness. It shocked the Town of Windsor when he was shot and killed on May 18, 2015.  That shooting, connected with the other shootings that happened during that time frame, remains unsolved.

The Windsor community comes together each year to celebrate Johnny with ‘Johnny’s Community Run.’ Proceeds from the 5K go to the Windsor community that Johnny loved and contributed to so much. Monies will go to the Johnny Jacoby Scholarship Fund at Windsor High School as well as K99’s ’28 Hours of Hope’ – a cause that Johnny was a big supporter of.

The run/walk around at Boardwalk Park going around Windsor Lake begins at 9 am on Saturday, April 29, 2017. The forecast is still calling for rain and snow that day, but you can bet that Johnny would be out there, so… Why not you?
