The protest took place as a surprise to residents, many of whom took photos and videos of the protesters in alarm.

In these videos, it became clear that the message of the group, known as Bloodstained Men, was an aggressive stance against circumcision.
Who Was Behind the Recent Grand Junction Protest?
Bloodstained Men's anti-circumcision stance argues that infants who are circumcised have no way to consent and that the practice is a type of mutilation.
The group travels around the United States and carries out protests in, according to the organization's website, roughly 60 cities per year.
While some onlookers at the recent Grand Junction protest assumed that the group was Colorado-based, Bloodstained Men actually started in California but has recruited members from across the country since its inception.
The Organization Behind the Protest Tours Colorado
The protest that took place in Grand Junction on Thursday, September 24, was not an isolated incident, as Bloodstained Men proceeded to hold a similar protest in Montrose, Cañon City, and Pueblo the following day, with additional protests posted on their official Facebook page for Denver, Castle Rock, and Colorado Springs.
While the protests are planned out and announced by the group, they still seem to come as a shock to unsuspecting residents.
