Iconic Diner With Many Locations Around Colorado To Close Over 100 Locations

How many restaurants do you remember going to before the pandemic that are no longer in business in 2024?

While a lot of the places that seem to be going away are local favorites, we're now starting to see many bigger chains losing the battle too.

We've seen some national favorites start to quietly lock up shop in certain locations around Colorado in the last year or so like TGI Friday's, Burger King, McDonald's, and more.

Now, in a surprise to many around the state, one more iconic brand is set to close over 100 locations.

Like many other popular restaurants around the world, Denny's is starting to experience similar problems to others in the food and restaurant industry.

From revenue drops to flat or down sales, it's getting harder and harder to keep the lights on for so many local, and now chain restaurants.

Denny's, which has over 1600 locations has announced that by the end of 2025, they will be closing the doors on at least 150 locations.

The plan is to close down 50 in the next two months, with the remaining 100 locations to close over the course of 2025.

While some of the closing stores will be the older locations that are harder to keep up to date and more modern looking, many of the closures will be the underperforming locations.

No word yet on how many local locations, if any in Colorado, will be affected but we will certainly update you as Colorado locations make the closure list.

We dined at a Denny's after leaving the Grizzley Rose a few weeks again, and while they've done a good job in the upkeep over the years, the food certainly has more to be desired.

The money it costs to eat there vs. the quality of the product is pretty far apart, which could be a big reason why sales etc. have been down. Certainly, the quality will vary from location to location based on chefs, staff, etc.

Here's to hoping the Colorado locations get that quality back up and keep the remaining locations off of the closures list.
