Getting the family out on the road is a tradition for many families, including those in Colorado. On a list of over 125 that the most sought-after Colorado has three in the top 40.

Grab some snacks, some beverages, some road trip games, and get in your vehicle to see Colorado the way many Americans want to see Colorado. These are a great way to bring the family closer together, while enjoying the beauty that Colorado has to offer.

If you do all three of these, your family will enjoy 300 miles of fun.

It's great knowing that if you ask many Americans what road trips that they'd most-like to take with the family, a "bucket list" if you will of road trips, that Colorado is on the list three separate times.

Three Road Trips in Colorado Rank Among "Bucket List" Road Trips

According to North Forty News, a car dealership in Florida, Gunther Mitsubishi, reached out to 3,000 people across America, asking them about family-friendly road trips that they want to take at least once within their lifetimes. I'm guess that the dealership used that info to persuade customers to get a new vehicle.

The #1 road trip families want to take is in Arizona, going from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon. That does sound like spectacular scenery. The 130th road trip on the list is a 54-mile route in Mississippi going from Tupelo to Oxford.

The Third Most-Sought After Road Trip in Colorado for Families

Coming in at #39 on the list of 130, is traveling by vehicle the 157 miles from Fort Collins to Steamboat Springs. Going through Red Feather Lakes, into Walden, and then into Steamboat is very pretty.

Gunther Mitsubishi suggests families check out the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery before leaving Fort Collins, and (if you want to take the very long way) driving through Rocky Mountain National Park along your journey.

The Second Most-Sought After Road Trip in Colorado for Families

Landing at #21 on the list of 130 family-friendly road trips is the 66-mile journey from Denver to Rocky Mountain National Park. You'd have to bet a lot of tourists travel to Denver to give that road trip a shot.

Gunther Mitsubishi suggests that, before leaving Denver, families should hit up Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, or the Children’s Museum of Denver; we might suggest a stop at Buc-ee's as well.

The Most Sought-After Road Trips in Colorado for Families

Not just the most-sought after route in Colorado, but the second most-sought after route on the list of 130, it's going from Colorado Springs to the Great Sand Dunes. It's 166 miles on the highway, but with some great things along the way.

Gunther Mitsubishi says to check out the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and hit up the Royal Gorge Bridge on your way to the sand dunes for more fun.
