Summer is almost here, and that means your kids are already bugging you because they're bored. They're pre-summer bored.

So I've been collecting information on Northern Colorado activities so we parents don't lose our minds. I'm going to even break it down by city because we moms and dads need to stick together.

Fort Collins

  • One of my favorite parks in Fort Collins has to be Twin Silos. The playground is huge, and sometimes the ice cream man shows up. Also, the parking lot is close to the play area, so you can sometimes park and watch your kid from the car. Not that I ever do that.
  • Splash pads are great because, no matter how hard we try as parents, our kids will inevitably get soaked doing something. It can be jumping around a splash pad or flooding your kitchen while trying to fill water balloons. Choose wisely and check out the one in Old Town.
  • How about an escape room? Wait, being locked in a room with kids screaming while trying to find a way out is something I can get for free at my house. Nevermind.
  • Be sure to visit fortcollins.gov for more activities.

Loveland

  • Be sure to check out Boyd Lake State Park in Loveland for some beach fun and water activities. It's also fun to yell "shark!" while the kids swim.
  • At Ultimate Ninjas Academy, your kids will love the obstacle courses! Just watching on the sidelines makes me winded.
  • The Flipside is a very cool arcade; just make sure you cash out some quarters. $20 should get you about 12 seconds of silence.
  • Check out visitloveland.com for all kinds of activity ideas.

Greeley

  • Greeley Family FunPlex has by far the best waterslide in town. That's it.
  • The Greeley Ice Haus is the perfect place to go on hot days. Kids can ice skate and play hockey because many kids will naturally break a bone right before summer. They might as well be having fun while doing it.
  • The Greeley Rec Center. There's a climbing wall. Again with the broken bones.
  • Hop over to greeleyco.gov for more info.

There you have it! And in case you're wondering, yes, I love my kids, but by August I want to run far, far away. Please don't judge me because if you know, you know.
