Popular Airline at Denver International Airport Files for Bankruptcy—Will It Shut Down?
I firmly believe that Denver International Airport is better than most airports around the country. I have been to many airports and I find that DIA is efficient, affordable, and nice. I know there are a lot of folks in Colorado that think otherwise.
One thing I love about Denver International Airport is that being such a major hub, nearly every airline operates there.
I’ve been able to fly on almost any airline I want at a convenient time. One airline is at risk of ceasing operations. Many Colorado residents rely on this airline for vacations, work travel, or to visit friends and family.
Spirit Airlines Is At Risk in Colorado
Spirit Airlines recently filed for bankruptcy. According to CNBC, Spirit Airlines is the first airline to file for bankruptcy in over 10 years.
A huge reason why Spirit is facing bankruptcy is due to the fact that they are approaching a due date for $1.1 billion of debt.

Will Spirit Airlines Shut Down in Colorado?
At this time it does not appear so. In a press release, Spirit Airlines says that all customers who have purchased tickets, credit, and other offers still have the opportunity to fly and use their rewards.
Right now, we do not see a future where Spirit Airlines will cease operations. Here is what they said about their future.
We expect to complete this process in the first quarter of 2025 and emerge even better positioned to deliver the best value in the sky. Other airlines that are operating successfully today have undertaken a similar process.
