Dragon Bravo Burns 100K Acres Near Grand Canyon—See Video
A lightning strike on the Fourth of July started what would soon become one of the largest wildfires of 2025. Nearly a month later, the Dragon Bravo Fire has just become a megafire, surpassing the 100,000 acres burned mark.
On July 12, the fire intensified and spread quickly, leading to the loss of the Grand Canyon Lodge as confirmed by the National Park Service. In the time since that, the fire has continued to expand to the north. Desert Rat Explorations on YouTube recently visited some of the burned areas.
You can see some of the burn scar near the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park as well as some of the nearby White Sage Fire burn scar. The smoke column he captured from 20 mile away is quite remarkable. He also shows a view along a highway showing all of the smoke covering the landscape.
Adventure from sea to sky on YouTube was able to show what the smoke looks like from the air as well.
For up to date information on the Dragon Bravo fire near the Grand Canyon, InciWeb is also a great resource. At this time, the wildfire is only 8% contained. The fire continues to move into Bureau of Land Management land and Arizona State Land.
