Hitchhiking Across The Great State Of Wyoming Is Actually Legal

Hitchhiking hasn't always been legal in Wyoming and hitching rides may not always be safe, but you can hitch a ride you use caution. The hitchhiking laws changed about 10 years ago here in Wyoming.

Growing up, we weren't big fans of having to walk around town, so we'd hitch a ride with a neighbor. You know, a person that we knew and saw every day. Hitching a ride these days would be a little spooky. With human trafficking and the way the world is today, it would be hard to want to take a ride from someone or pick someone up.
