Hot Dog Eating Champ to Compete in Colorado State Fair Challenge
The world champion hot-dog-eater Joey Chestnut will be competing for the first time in the Colorado State Fair's second annual Major League Eating event, this one featuring sloppers.
The Colorado State Fair is taking place August 28 through September 7, 2020, including the hosting of the second annual 'Slopper Eating Championship.'
The contest will happen on Labor Day, September 7. Though attendees won't be permitted, up to eight competitors will be in the event, including Chestnut, best known for being a hot-dog-eating world champion.
According to 9News, Chestnut will be competing in the state fair's 'Slopper Eating Championship.' A 'slopper' is a half-pound of Colorado beef topped with a slice of cheese and smothered in Pueblo green chile, which is then served on a bottom bun.
Competitors will have eight minutes to consume as many sloppers as they can. Chestnut will be facing the event's inaugural winner, who ate just over 28 sloppers in that time frame in 2019.
Good luck, Joey.
