Horsetooth Road Closure Near Collindale Golf Course Oct 8 Until Oct 12
Heads up, travelers in Fort Collins, as Horsetooth Road is going to see a full closure so that they can fix the railroad tracks near Collndale Golf Course.
This is going to cause some major headaches, I predict, as Horsetooth is a major artery, and this will be in place from early Friday morning (Oct 8) until (hopefully) noon on Tuesday (Oct 12.)
Union Pacific will be working on the railroad tracks near Timberline during the closure, if that matters to anyone who'll be affected. Luckily, access to Collindale Golf Course/C.B. Potts, and the other businesses in the area won't be shut off.
Often times, after hanging out with my brother who lives near Timberline and Horsetooth, I like to go down Horsetooth on my way home to grab a coffee at Panera. This weekend, if I do visit my brother, I guess I will scrap that idea.
The Union Pacific line is one of three that run through Fort Collins. The Union Pacific one comes in from the south, running parallel to Timberline before joining the Great Western line at Riverside. The Great Western line comes in from the east and continues along Riverside.
Then, there's the BNSF line that runs along College before heading east at Vine. That line is of particular disdain among many in Fort Colllins. The horns, the horns, the horns.
Be sure to spread the word that for these four days to be ready for increased traffic on Harmony and Drake, as folks detour around the closure. Just what we need: More traffic on Harmony and Drake.
