March 20 may have been the official start of spring, but April 1st marks the beginning of boating season across Northern Colorado.

Certain boat ramps at Horsetooth and Carter Lake open this month and people could not be happier that boating is officially back.

At Horsetooth, the South Bay Ramp is officially open now through Memorial Day weekend, beginning at 7 AM and closing at 7 PM. From then on to Labor Day, it will open at 6 AM instead, and remain open until 10 PM each night.

The Inlet Bay Ramp will be opening on April 15 through April 30, for the marina only. Then will officially open May 1 through Memorial Day weekend from 7 AM to 7 PM, with the same 6 AM-10 PM hours as South Bay for the summer.

Down south at Carter Lake, their North Pines Ramp and South Shore Ramps are officially open as of April 1st, from 7 AM to 7 PM daily, with the same 6 AM to 10 PM hours from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

The North Ramp by the marina will open officially from 7 AM to 7 PM on May 1st, with the usual 6 AM to 10 PM hours for the summer.

The ramps may occasionally close due to weather, water levels or staffing issues. You can always check with each of the reservoir offices for current hours and conditions before heading to the ramp for your boat day! Visit the Larimer County website for details and their contact information.
