Highway 287 Closed in Both Directions North of Vern’s Place

UPDATE: Highway 287 was reopened after being closed for over an hour.

A serious accident has closed down Highway 287 in both directions north of the town of Laporte.

Reports say that a pickup collided with a semi north of LaPorte and Vern's Place at the intersection of Highway 287 and CR 54G, with five people injured in the course of the accident.

A medical helicopter is on its way to extricate the vehicles and their injured occupants.
