Does your kid love animals?

Mine sure does, and we are always looking to support animal sanctuaries who provide guardianship and refuge for abused and neglected farm animals.

Their selfless work gets really expensive when you consider all the medical costs, food and labor involved with caring for large animals.

Get your cuteness fix by joining Luvin Arms for their Third Annual Halloween Party.

When: 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, October 26.

Where: Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary, 3470 County Road 7, Erie CO 80516

Enjoy trick or treating, pumpkin carving, haunted tractor rides, scary stories by the fire, a photo booth, pumpkin treats for pigs, book-o-ween, food vendors and more.

The event is free, but I recommend a donation of $10 per adult and $5 per child, as this is the suggested donation for their weekend tours.

The rescued residents include cows, pigs, turkeys, chickens, horses, goats, sheep, ducks, and a llama. These animals were rescued from abuse, religious rituals, bankrupt farms and more. With nowhere to turn, they would have been slaughtered if not taken in by Luvin Arms.

Families are encouraged to dress in costume, perhaps as your favorite animal or from an animal book such as "Charlotte's Web", and you might just win a special prize at the Book-O-Ween activity!

If you can't make it to the party, you can still support Luvin Arms with a donation, by scheduling volunteer hours or by dropping off your pumpkins after the holidays: they make for great animal snacks.
