Gwen Stefani Finishing Solo Album With Pharrell; New Single to Debut on ‘The Voice’
It looks like Gwen Stefani is ready to make her solo comeback eight years after 'The Sweet Escape' was released.
Billboard reports that Stefani is putting the final touches on a solo album with Pharrell right now in Miami. The announcement was made by Stefani's manager, Irving Azoff, during a panel at New York's Advertising Week. Azoff also revealed that Stefani will be choosing the album's first single next week, and that she will perform the song on 'The Voice' later this season.
Not only are both Stefani and Pharrell judges on 'The Voice' this season, but they also have a long history of working together. Pharrell co-wrote No Doubt's 2002 hit, 'Hella Good,' as well as Stefani's 2005 single 'Hollaback Girl.'
Expectations are that Stefani and her label are aiming to get the album out by the end of this year in order to take advantage of her publicity on 'The Voice' this fall.
After the release of 2006's 'The Sweet Escape,' Stefani rejoined her band No Doubt, as well as gave birth to sons Zuma (2008) and Apollo (2014).
