According to the Weld County District Attorney's Office, a Greeley man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison after being convicted of several felonies. The felonies stem from a robbery in 2020 at a Greeley Target.

In July 2020, 35-year-old Abdirahman Hussein Mohamed was reported for a robbery at a Target. The victim was reportedly working in customer service when Mohamed came up to the desk.

It was assumed that Mohamed was buying a set of headphones that another Target worker had brought up to the counter. Mohamed then asked if a Chromebook laptop had been brought up as well. Mohamed then proceeded to tell the victim he had a gun and would shoot up the store if the victim told anyone what was happening.

Mohamed proceeded to walk out of the store with the laptop without paying. During the time of the incident, police later found that Mohamed was on parole with a GPS monitor. Officers arrested Mohamed the day after the incident at Target and found Mohamed in the same clothes and a gun holster in his pants.

Mohamed was officially sentenced to 24 years last week after a jury in July found him guilty of aggravated robbery, menacing with a deadly weapon, and theft.
