It just blows my mind some of the calls that our law enforcement respond to. Take a look at some of the recent call in the Greeley-Evans area and get ready to laugh out loud.

As the Greeley Tribune reported, these are just a few of the many calls that have come into dispatchers lately.

Friday, Sept. 4

12:15 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the 1400 block of 8th Street for a report of a homeless man stealing mail from residents’ mailboxes.

12:45 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the 2000 block of 68th Avenue for a report of legs hanging from a shelf in a resident’s garage. The caller wasn’t sure if the legs were real or a Halloween decoration, but wanted police to check it out.

1 p.m.: Greeley police responded to a Mexican restaurant in the 2100 block of 9th Street for a report of a man who tried to pay a bill with a stolen credit card that had been expired for more than six years. The caller told dispatchers the man was hiding in the restroom.

2 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the 2400 block of 29th Street for a report of a cat tied up in a stock trailer. When police arrived, they found a calf in the trailer.

4:15 p.m.: Greeley police responded to a bank in the 1000 block of 9th Avenue for a report of an intoxicated man who had made an accident in his pants and was creeping out customers.

4:30 p.m.: Greeley police responded to the 600 block of 15th Avenue Court for a report of a tripping roommate.

5:15 p.m.: A man living in the 400 block of 12th Avenue called Weld County Dispatch to find out why Greeley police and fire were outside of his home. The caller told dispatchers his son was home alone freaking out. The caller’s son had just recently been paroled.

Saturday, Sept. 5

1:30 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 1700 block of 7th Avenue for a report of a woman squirting lighter fluid on people’s lawns.

9:30 a.m.: Greeley police responded to a fast-food restaurant in the 2900 block of 10th Street for a report of an intoxicated man who had fallen asleep in the lobby.

9:45 a.m.: Greeley police responded to the 1900 block of 24th Avenue for a report of a squirrel that was trying to make contact with people.

11:30 a.m.: Greeley police responded to a convenience store in the 2500 block of 10th Street because a man wanted to know if it was legal to sell a car to a 17-year-old.

1 p.m.: Greeley police responded to a retail store in the 3600 block of 10th Street to pick up a dead rooster.

9:30 a.m.: An intoxicated woman called dispatch asking for a ride home after waking up on a bench at the corner of 8th Avenue and 9th Street.

10:15 p.m.: Greeley police responded to a bar in the 800 block of 9th Street for a report of a man who was denied access because he had visible tattoos. The owners of the bar said police told them to block people with tattoos access because of all of the recent fights downtown.
