Governor Jared Polis is expected to extend Colorado's mask mandate after data shows it works to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The Governor's staff confirmed Colorado's mask mandate will be extended before it expires this weekend, according to The Denver Channel. However, they did not give a specific date or period of time for the extension. I expect Gov. Polis will make the full announcement via press conference in the next few days.

State and national health officials agree, mask-wearing has greatly contributed to the slowdown of the spread of COVID-19. The state of Colorado has resources available if you have any questions.

Jill Hunsaker Ryan, director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, said this:

People should know they are making a difference in slowing the spread of this virus. So please keep staying home when you’re sick, and keep washing your hands, physically distancing — and, yes, wearing a mask! As mask wearing has increased, viral spread has decreased, enabling schools to open in some areas and promoting the increase of economic activity.

Christmas face masks are already showing up online. I found one that perfectly expresses my feelings about 2020.
