Established in 2004, the Fort Collins Mural Project's mission is to promote contemporary art by collaborating with local artists and local businesses. They focus on providing opportunities for underrepresented and emerging artists in the state.

In Downtown Fort Collins, is one of the most-popular tattoo places in Northern Colorado: Millennium Tattoo and the Millennium Gallery of Living Art. It really made sense to have a mural created on the "big blank wall" on their west side.
