Fort Collins Mural Project Has Done Over 100 Murals

Established in 2004, the Fort Collins Mural Project's mission is to promote contemporary art by collaborating with local artists and local businesses. They focus on providing opportunities for underrepresented and emerging artists in the state.

In Downtown Fort Collins, is one of the most-popular tattoo places in Northern Colorado: Millennium Tattoo and the Millennium Gallery of Living Art. It really made sense to have a mural created on the "big blank wall" on their west side.

How Many Artists Were Used to Create the 'Gateway Mural' in Fort Collins?

In September of 2024, the mural, designed by the Executive Director of Fort Collins Mural Project and crafted by 12 different artists, was completed. The overall design is that the mural is a postcard from Fort Collins.

With Fort Collins having 11 letters, and there being a comma included, 12 artists each took a letter/comma to create a representation of The Choice City, from its history to its current vibes. I wish I had seen the mural in progress. Did they go one at a time, or did artists work in tandem?
