Detectives with Fort Collins Police are investigating a suspicious death that has been since ruled a homicide.

On Monday night (July 5) at about 7:30 p.m., Fort Collins Police officers responded to the report of a deceased man. As per a press release from the City of Fort Collins, a caller reported finding a man's body under a bridge in the 4600 block of Mason Street near the South Transit Center. Due to the victim's condition, police initially began investigating the incident as a suspicious death.

By Tuesday, July 6, the Larimer County Coroner officially ruled the manner of death in this incident as a homicide. As per the press release, the Coroner’s Office will release more details, including the victim's identity, at a later date.

“We won't stop until we find out what happened to this man,” said FCPS Chief Jeff Swoboda. “I urge anyone who may have been traveling near that area on July 4 or 5 to contact detectives about any people or unusual activity you saw. Your tip may be our best lead.”

A suspect in connection to this incident has yet to be identified.
