While the fall sports season is winding down for most schools, the ones that opted for the Spring season are just now learning their schedule and that includes Fort Collins High School.

Fort Collins moves back up to the 5A level after competing at the 4A level since 2014. They've been placed in a league with Northglenn, Westminster, Boulder, Adams City and Mountain Range.

League placement and schedules were released by CHSAANOW.com this past Friday, and just like the fall season, there will be 6 games with an 8 team postseason.

The Fort Collins schedule will look like this (home games in BOLD):

  • Week 1 at Denver East
  • Week 2 Adams City
  • Week 3 @Northglenn
  • Week 4 Mountain Range
  • Week 5 @Boulder
  • Week 6 Westminster

Also, just like the fall season, the championships will be hosted by  CSU-Pueblo and will be played the weekend of May 7-8.

The first week of practice allowed will be the week of February 25, with the initial week of competition set for March 11.

It's so weird to talk about football, and it's even going to feel more bizarre WATCHING live football be played in the Spring, but for a football fanatic like myself, ANY season is a good season for some football.

Good luck and good health to ALL teams in the area competing.
