We have all heard of the phrase ‘filthy rich,’ but how filthy or how rich do you have to be to achieve this title?

According to the the recently released annual Forbes 400 List, five Colorado billionaires make the cut — including Fort Collins heiress and philanthropist Pat Stryker.

Stryker’s grandfather founded the medical technology company Stryker Corp. In 2001, Pat Stryker founded the Bohemian Foundation, which supports Northern Colorado with Community, Music, Arts and Civic Programs and puts on NewWestFest annually.

In order to land a spot on the list, Forbes’ requires a minimum net worth of $2.1 billion. Forbes reports that the average wealth of these billionaires increased by $200 million, putting the new average at $7.4 billion.

Due to the exclusivity of Forbes’ list, only the richest of the rich make it; leaving no room for supposed ‘shoe-in’ billionaires such as Michael Jordan and Kylie Jenner. Shocked that a couple Coloradans beat those two out? I was. But ‘filthy rich’ contestants such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg came as no surprise.

Just for reference, Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO, is the reigning billionaire on Forbes 400 for two years in a row now, with a whopping net worth of $114 billion — that would buy me a lot of shoes.

The five Colorado billionaires and their net worth:

  1. Philip Anschutz: $11.5 billion
  2. Charles Ergen: $10.8 billion
  3. John Malone: $7.3 billion
  4. James Leprino: $3.6 billion
  5. Pat Stryker: $2.9 billion
