Fort Collins Could See the Return of its Own Comedy Club
Back in the 80s and 90s Old Town Square used to have a Comedy Works. Now, people are working to open a brand new comedy club in town.
If all goes as planned, the Choice City could be hosting some choice comedy with the next couple of years.
The Poolside of Coopersmith's used to the location of Comedy Works- it was neat having a venue like that in our area. The folks behind what will be called The Comedy Fort, are hoping to bring that kind of fun back.
They've started fundraising on a club that would be underground, like Ace Gillette's and Social, but also like famous comedy clubs like the Comedy Cellar in New York City. it will seat 150 while hosting A-list national comedians, local comedians and open-mic nights.
The comedy scene around Northern Colorado has been growing, but the venues to see the comedy are often, quirky. A LOT of craft-breweries have been hosting shows, bowling alleys as well. It's time that there was an actual comedy club here, again.
They're hoping to raise $100,000 to get things off the ground. They have many perks that you can score by being a 'founding member' of The Comedy Fort.
