The first fatal car accident of 2020 in Weld County happened this past weekend.

According to Greeley Tribune, a driver only identified as a 29-year-old man died on the scene on Saturday night (Jan. 25) after his 2016 Jeep SUV went off the left side of the roadway, traveling eastbound on Colo. 392.

Police do not expect foul play, but suggest that speed may have been a factor.

The SUV hit a private driveway before overturning. The car then hit a tree, a power pole, a gas meter and two fences before it was engulfed in flames.
