Oh, the "Like" button.  Never before has it been easier to give instant feedback on the things that tickle your fancy on Facebook.  It is kinda broad, though.  I mean, when you "like" something, what if you also need people to know that you "want" that thing?  Well, looks like Facebook has your back.

On select pages, Facebook is now testing "Want" and "Collect" buttons.  These buttons let you make wish lists, then keep track of which items you've collected.  Think of a combination of Pinterest and a gift registry.

The feature is live now on such pages as Pottery Barn's. I was able to hit the "collect" button there on a Hadley Ruched Duvet and add it to my "For the Home" wish list. Facebook is testing the Collections feature with Fab.com, Michael Kors, Victoria's Secret, Wayfair.com, and others. If you are a fan of any of those retailers the collections might appear in your News Feed.

It's sort of nice seeing a move toward e-commerce on Facebook that isn't just pushing ads onto your profile page.  Putting the users in control is always a smart move; and, personally, I think "want" and "collect" buttons are a step in the right direction.

What do you think?
