The Super Bowl is over and the NFL offseason has officially begun. In case you missed it, Broncos fans rejoice as the Kansas City Chiefs' quest for the first ever threepeat was thwarted by the mighty Philadelphia Eagles, who blew the Chiefs out by a score of 40-22. To be honest, the game was never as close as the final score makes it seem. It may as well have been 40-0.

Meanwhile, our Denver Broncos - of course - exited the playoffs this past season in the first round. That being said, since enduring the awful, awful Broncos football we have every since they won Super Bowl 50 and Peyton Manning rode off into the sunset, this past season can really be looked at as something positive to build on.

Two seasons ago brought us a new - already accomplished - head coach with the hire of Sean Payton. Payton came to Denver from New Orleans, with a year off in between spent on TV at FOX Sports.

He brought a handful of his former Saints players and staff with him, which at the time seemed like a bit too much. Now two years later, things seem to be on the right track and today the Broncos announced the hiring of another Saints coach.

Darren Rizzi was Payton's Special Teams Coordinator in New Orleans from 2019-2021 when Peyton left the team after that season. Rizzi stayed on for new head coach Dennis Allen, and actually took over this past season as Interim Head Coach after Allen was fired halfway through the season.

The Saints officially hired Kellen Moore a few days ago as their new head coach, fresh off the Super Bowl victory as Offensive Coordinator in Philadelphia, sending Rizzi and many other coaches looking for jobs as he'll bring in his own staff.

Rizzi will be the Broncos new Special Teams Coordinator to kick off the 2025 season.
