Big CornHole Tournament to Benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for Larimer
This tournament will go towards helping over 4,200 young kids in Larimer County receive free books with Dolly's worldwide reading program.
Studies show that it's very important to a child's development to get them into reading at an early age. On the flip side, you're never too old for a good game of CornHole.
Dolly Parton began this organization for her home state of Tennessee back in 1995, and it has expanded and expanded, ever since. As of 2021, they've put 150 million free books into kids, aged 0-5 years old, across American and other countries. If a child were to be enrolled in the program at birth, they'd end up receiving 60 ag-appropriate books, for free, by their 5th birthday.
United Way of Larimer County is the local organization spearheading the program for children within the county within the age group; that number currently sits at about 13,000 kids. That's a lot of books that have to be purchased, to give out for free, so it's great that this Corn Hole Tournament will be helping them to achieve that goal.
The Biergarten at the Anheuser-Busch Tour Center in Fort Collins will be the site of this tournament, hosted by Anchor Roofing and presented by the Rotary Club of Fort Collins. It'll be a great setting for a day of fun.
Though they are looking to raise funds for the Imagination Library, there will be $900 in prizes with the tournament, made up of teams of 2. How's your game? My game always seems to suffer when you add the word "tournament" to it, but the game is always fun.
