Republican Senator Cory Gardner is looking down the barrel of a tough re-election campaign come November.

In a Wednesday statement, Gardner said “I do not believe we need to hear from an 18th witness," according to Denver Post.

So far, Republican Senators have blocked every witness from testifying.

Though impeachment prosecutors have cited evidence and testimony from witnesses called by House investigators, the Senate trial has not had any witnesses. The Senate vote holds the right to refuse any evidence or witness related to a trial.

Last week, Gardner voted to table a subpoena for former National Security Adviser John Bolton, among other witnesses, and documents from several federal agencies, according to Denver Post.
