Colorado Parks and Wildlife found a bull elk's antlers tangled with plastic in Estes Park.

Officials will only intervene as a last resort.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife wrote on Facebook, "at this point in time, tranquilizing is too dangerous for the bull for it could be susceptible to being gored by other bull elk in the area".

Colorado Parks and Wildlife also wrote on Facebook, "please keep a safe distance when viewing wild animals such as elk and please take FIVE MINUTES out of your day to remove anything in your yard that could become entangled in an ungulate’s antlers".

Unfortunately, this is something that is an ongoing issue. Officials starting warning about cleaning up trash back in August.
