A man is currently wanted for attempting to burn the contents of a ballot box in Colorado prior to the 2020 election.

The man, who was caught on camera but has yet to be identified was seen inserting a lit piece of rolled-up paper into a ballot box back on October 29th in Colorado Springs. Luckily, the attempt proved to be futile as the rolled up piece of paper was quickly extinguished and did not damage or burn any of the ballots.

The Colorado Springs Police Department had this to say about the incident:

This is the only incident of its kind that we are aware of in the City of Colorado Springs limits.

The Colorado Springs Police Department was informed of the incident on October 29th, the day that it happened, around 10:45 a.m. where surveillance footage was obtained, but the suspect had since left the scene of the crime.

It is not clear as to why the man was attempting to burn the ballots in the box, and his identity remains a mystery, but the local authorities are asking for help from the community to identify the man.

The investigation remains open, and the Colorado Springs Police Department is actively working to identify the man and are seeking help from the public to bring the man to justice.
