College is expensive. Turns out it starts with the application, but on October 13 the application fee for all 32 of Colorado's public colleges and universities will be free.

According to ThoughtCo college application fees typically fall in the "range of $30 to $80 depending on the type of school." This gets expensive fast if you're applying to more than one college.

Colorado Free Application Day is designed to "inspire more Coloradoans to continue their education". Here is a link to the application fee waiver instructions for each participating college and university in Colorado.

All residents of Colorado who are applying for undergraduate programs at participating Colorado colleges and universities are eligible to submit their admission application for free on October 13, 2020. Undergraduate programs include undegraduate level certificates, associate degrees, and bachelor degrees. First-time freshmen, transfer students, returning students, and applicants seeking a 2nd bachelor degree are all eligible. Applicants for graduate level programs are not eligible.
