Last year was my first Cirque du Soleil experience. 10 minutes in, I was  converted to the kind of fan that will see every different show that they bring to town. It is a spectacle. It is larger than life. It left me saying 'You gotta be kidding me!' so many times, it almost because trite.

Dralion is coming to Budweiser Events Center in early February.

Cirque du Soleil origins is in Canada. It started when founder Guy Laliberte, himself a street performer and producer, realized that he was surrounded by immense talent in Fête Foraine de Baie-Saint-Paul, and decided to create a show around it. Since then, Cirque has scoured the planet for the best musicians, entertainers and performers they could find.

Dralion is an East meets West show that combines and juxtaposes the two cultures in one cohesive show.

I spoke with Mitch Grobbs, the cellist/violinist from the show and he explained what the show is about.

It's about harmony and bringing together different cultures from around the world. We centered the show on the four elements, so we have fire, air, earth and water. Its about the arguments that happen between the elements and how we bring them together.
