Chili Verde Mexican Grill Opens in Downtown Loveland
Tens of thousands of Coloradans love Mexican food and enjoy the chance at trying a new place out. Downtown Loveland has a location that welcomed a new competitor to the game in October of 2025. There was a burrito spot at this location that lasted for many years; this new place is hoping for that same success.
One Mexican Restaurant in Loveland Takes Place of Former Mexican Restaurant
It was in early 2025 that 2 Amigos Cocina closed its doors at 116 South Lincoln Avenue in Downtown Loveland (just south of First Street.) They had been open since 2021, opening during the pandemic must have made things difficult. Before 2 Amigos Cocina, Antonio's Burritos ruled that spot for at least 5 years. Prior to Antonio's I remember an Italian restaurant being there, one that had "buckets" of spaghetti.

It takes a lot of courage and hard work to even start any small business, especially a restaurant. When you add in the fact that when this new spot opened, Downtown was still in the midst of the big 4th Street Revitalization Project, which was keeping folks from coming to Downtown, you have to give them credit for taking the chance.
What Mexican Restaurants are in Downtown Loveland?
Downtown Loveland does not have a plethora of Mexican restaurants as of the fall of 2025. There's Senor Rafael at The Mexican Inn, Cactus Grille, The Egg Kings, and, as of October of 2025, Chili Verde Mexican Grill, new to 116 South Lincoln. They have a variety of menu options, specializing in burritos, with a $4 daily breakfast burrito special; when I visited it was a Wednesday and the Chorizo & Egg burrito was great; the pork green chili was terrific, too.
